Solid Week

This past week started with the disappointment of Jack staying on the ventilator. Since then, it has been an encouraging week. Eli continues to do normal newborn things. If it wasn't for the oxygen, you wouldn't know he was born three months early. Jack has made steady progress all week. This time next week, it is possible that he will no longer have a PICC line. As of now, he is finally receiving all nutrition from breast milk for the first time since before getting sick! He is also at his lowest morphine dosage since the infection.

This progress does not change anything previously posted. He has made more progress with his breathing this week, but it is still expected to be a long haul getting his lungs healed. The clot is also still present but believed to be less of an issue with each passing day.

Below pictures are of Eli and Jack today. I am guessing you all know who is who.

  1. Brent I've been reading all your posts and praying everyday. What sweet miracle boys you have. Praying Jack can get extubated quickly and that he would knock the socks off his entire care team.
