Please keep Jack in your prayers. There is more going on than was first thought. His dip is not due to his lungs tiring, but rather a change with his heart. I am not going to include all the specifics, but essentially the valve that is causing his murmur has widened and the issue with the aorta, once thought to be a non issue, appears to be very evident. They are first trying to treat the murmur with medicine. The advantage to the medicine (beyond the obvious of avoiding surgery) is that if it works it will cause the valve to close slowly and it can be reversed. With surgery, the results are instantaneous and not designed to be reversed. The reason for wanting the change to be progressive rather than immediate is so that the collateral effects of the aorta can be measured before they are damaging to Jack. Please be praying...kind of between a rock and a hard place. If they fix the murmur, it may cause immediate issues requiring surgery that Jack is considered too small for. If the murmur doesn't get fixed (at least part way for now), it may cause permanent damage to his heart.
We likely will not know success/failure of the medicine until Saturday afternoon.
On another note, Eli is doing fantastic in his crib. Such a mix of emotions to see one doing well and the other struggling.
So so so praying hard for little Jack. Praying for you and Kristin too. Also that God is guiding the hands and thoughts of the Doctors.
